Free Solar Power for 2.6 Million Off-Grid Sindh Households
Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, announced the latest plans of the government to give away free electricity to consumers using up to 100 units and to give off-grid families solar power equipment. It is spoken at the speech that 2.6 Million off-grid Households would benefit from this program in which 500,000 people will be enrolled in its initial phase.

Shah proposed establishing six microgrids, each 75 kilowatts, as pilot projects across six divisions, catering to clusters of 100 households. The grids would provide power to homes consuming 100 kilowatts.
He also suggested setting up three solar parks of 305 megawatts each to supply K-Electric, HESCO, and SEPCO, benefiting both on-grid and off-grid households.
