What are the Eligibility Criteria for the Aghosh Program?

Following are some of the important requirements for registration in an Aghosh program once you check your CNIC:

  • An applicant must be a pregnant or lactating woman,
  • She must be a mother of children up to 2 years old,
  • She must possess a valid CNIC Card as without it your registration can not be done.
  • She must belong to a Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) beneficiary family (daughter-in-law or self-beneficiary)

Once you have checked your  CNIC and fulfilled other criteria, then you have to search for the nearest health center in your area which can be easily approachable once you find it then visit there with your CNIC Card as without it you will not be able to register in Aghosh program.

At the Health Center, you will be asked some questions to enter your data and then after gathering all the required information, they will also take your fingerprints for the verification process.

The important thing to remember:

Beneficiary ladies must present all valid information, including their valid CNIC card and—most importantly—an active mobile phone number when they register at the health center.

You must have a current mobile phone number because that is how they received the notice when their payment of Rs. 23,000 arrived in their accounts. If the phone number is changed or lost, you won’t receive any notifications.

Payment Process in Aghosh Program in Multiple Stages

Pregnant Women and mothers of children less than two years of age are given an amount of 23000 in multiple stages:

  • Pregnant women will receive their first Payment of Rs 2000 from the Health Center after here registration.
  • Rs.6,000 on 4 scheduled antenatal (during pregnancy) visits i.e., Rs. 1,500 after each visit.
  • Rs. 4,000 on safe delivery (child’s birth) at Government health facilities (BHU, RHC, THQ & DHQ).
  • Rs. 2,000 on newborn’s checkup within 15 Days of child’s birth.
  • Rs. 2,000 each on 1st & 2nd Measles vaccination.
  • Rs. 5,000 after the inclusion of the Child’s NADRA B-form/CRC number into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Application by LHV.
