Balochistan Govt Allocates Rs2 Billion For Benazir Scholarship Program

In his Budget Speech, Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nausherwani announced multiple budget strategies they have set for the next two years to increase economic growth and bring stability to the province.

In his speech, he announced Rs 2 Billion has been allocated by the government for the Benazir Scholarship Program to promote education and enroll more children in free education in Balochistan.

He emphasized that under the Benazir Scholarship Program in the province, stipends will be granted to PhD candidates in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and accounting and that children of civilian martyrs will receive free education from 1st to 16th grade.

Budget Of Educational Sector To Be Increase By 25%

The province government has dedicated a significant portion of its budget to the provision of free education to impoverished children and health guarantee for its residents, with a primary focus on the health and education of its citizens throughout the whole budget address. 

The province’s administration is prioritizing health and education, and as part of the Benazir Scholarship Program, Balochistan’s government will be increasing the funding for the education sector by 25%.

With Rs 67 billion set aside for health projects and a potential Rs 120 billion for education reforms, larger allocations are envisaged for the education and health sectors. Furthermore, it is anticipated that Rs 70 billion will be allotted for peace and security programs, which are aimed at preserving stability and bolstering security in the region.

The National Finance Commission (NFC) award is a significant source of funding for the province, with 647 billion projected to be awarded. Furthermore, it is anticipated that Balochistan will get an additional Rs 60 billion from Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), which will fund regional development projects.
